I've been to many parts of the U.S and Canada in search of wolves and have heard them howling many times but have only caught quick glances of them as they weave in and out of the brush. I painted this pair looking over their territory as night approaches.

This is a place where I camped for a week during peak rut. During the week we heard many bulls calling, but this is the only one I saw. He was watching over about a dozen cow elk.

One of my favorite places is Kensington park, which holds about 1000 acres of nature preserve. You can get very close to the deer, especially the fawns. I have photographed many deer there, including this one who followed me around for about 10 minutes until his mother came looking for him.
