School Visit Testimonials
"It was a pleasure dealing with both you and your husband. Mr. Monroe's assembly was a big hit with the students and with the staff. The kids are still talking about it! I would certainly recommend you both to any group"
Bonnie Hurzog, Sutton Elementary
"I can't tell you what an impact your visit had on our students. They are still talking about it. I can't thank you enough for the enthusiasm you bestowed on our Douglas family."
Patty Marchel, Principal, Douglas Elementary
"I wanted you to know what an impact you made on our students at Maumee Valley Country Day School. Not only did the students come to draw after school, but also went home drawing turtles and other animals. Teachers stopped me in the halls to tell me that they thought you were the best Author/Illustrator I'd had visit the school since I've been the librarian. You did a terrific job with the children, from the youngest pre-schooler to the oldest middle school student. Many of us feel we have no talent to draw, so when someone like you makes us feel that there are possibilities it is thrilling."
Phyllis Quick, Librarian, Maumee Valley Country Day School
"Thank you once again for a wonderful presentation to our Kindergarteners. We feel fortunate to have such a talented and passionate artist as part of our cultural enrichment series here at Miller Early Childhood Center.
I have been a teacher in this school for 16 years and your annual program is one of the most anticipated and enjoyed by the children.....Your presentation is by far one fo themost developmentally appropriate ones we have at Miller.....We look forward to your return next year and wish you the best in your artistic career."
Jeanne Blazo, Kindergarten Teacher
Miller Early Childhood Center
Mike Monroe has been a part of Miller Early Childhood's Cultural Enrichment programs for onver 10 years. Mike's expertise in drawing animals has fascinated our children with such enthusiasm that many of our young children have become quite the artists.
Mike has a warm, quiet and gentle way of demonstrating to the various classes how anyone can draw by just taking the time to observe and appreciate nature. The great [out]doors is brought into the classroom with this artistic talent. If nothing else, Mike teaches our children to have a genuine respect for nature and its beauty.
Mike is a true asset to any classroom program. It is truly a shame that he cannot be part of the science and art program for all children in the state of Michigan. He is a gift to the children of Michigan."
Kay Nichols, Principal
Miller Early Childhood Center
